You'll flip over how amazing this copycat Applebee's clubhouse grille sandwich tastes. You can make the recipe at home and it tastes just like the real thing!
Ham, turkey, bacon, cheddar cheese, fresh lettuce, couple slices tomato on 2 slices texas toast with both mayo and BBQ sauce.... what's not to love!
How to Make a copycat Applebee's Clubhouse Grille Sandwich
I don't know about you, but I enjoy an afternoon out at Applebee's. The thing is, the nearest location is about 20 minutes away. Not such a long time, but on a busy day, I just can't squeeze that in. I will probably eat lunch at my desk, so I will be able to fit in some more chores or playtime with my daughter. Lucky for me, some of the sandwiches such as this Clubhouse Grill can be replicated at home without too much trouble.
What's In It
Since it's a sandwich, this is one of the easiest copycat recipes I've made recently. There are a few basic ingredients:
- Texas toast
- Mayonnaise
- Cheddar cheese
- Jack cheese
- Ham
- Sliced Turkey breast
- Applewood smoked bacon
- Tomato
- BBQ sauce
- Lettuce
What Type of BBQ Sauce is on the Clubhouse Grille?
Right on their website, it says they use honey BBQ sauce. You can certainly use any type you like, that's the fun part about cooking. But if you want it to taste authentic, use a sweeter BBQ sauce.
Mix it up a little. Try my Yum Yum Sauce or Chick Fil A sauce on the sandwich or as a dunk for the sandwich or some fries with it.
Do you use a panini press?
To keep it looking and tasting like the real thing, don't use a panini press. Applebee's toasts their bread and then uses the golden brown toast on the sandwich. Everything looks and feels like a regular sandwich - it isn't smooshed together like a panini press.
What to Serve with the Clubhouse Grille Sandwich
Since it is so easy to make, you can serve it with your lunch favorites.
Sides - How about some crispy air fryer Sweet Potato fries, classic macaroni salad or homemade kettle chips? Or you can serve a healthy cucumber tomato feta salad with it.
Soup & Sandwich Combo - A bowl of ratatouille soup would be a nice light veggie filled option to serve with this sandwich. To stick with a copycat theme try homemade copycat Panera Broccoli Cheddar Soup or my Panera tomato soup recipe both are also great choices. My copycat Olive Garden Minestrone soup recipe would also make a great combination.
For dessert after, try my copycat Choco Tacos,Chocolate Chip Brownies orBanana Oatmeal Cookies with Chocolate Chips.

That looks good, I like Apple Bee's but it's always cheaper to make recipes yourself vs. going out to eat.
