Breaded Chicken Cutlets In The Ninja Foodi Recipe (2024)

I made chicken cutlets breaded in the Ninja Foodi last night and the recipe came out delicious! I took the traditional Italian recipe – which includes breadcrumbs, parmesan cheese, and Italian seasoning and gave it a spin using my Ninja Kitchen tool and cannot tell you how easy it all was to make.

Breaded Chicken Cutlets In The Ninja Foodi Recipe

I started out with Perdue Chicken cutlets and cut them up into thin slices to ensure that I would be able to cook through each piece in the 25 minutes I was slated for dinner prep. I also wanted to try to get as many pieces as I could into my Ninja Foodi and I thought that if I made thinner slices, I could manipulate them and get more on my trays.

I know that the Ninja Foodi comes with extension packs, but the stacking trays that I used actually came with my Ninja Foodi. So, you should have them, too! I didn’t buy anything extra to make this dish. Everything I needed came with my original purchase.

Just so you know, I have theNinja FD401 Foodi 8-qt. 9-in-1 Deluxe XL Cooker & Air Fryer-Stainless Steel Pressure Cooker and it was the BEST CHOICE EVER. As a family of 5, the 8 quart is the right choice for us and I love having the air fryer included in the mix.

Nothing here is really going to shock you – a breaded chicken cutlet is a chicken cutlet. It’s more about how to use your kitchen tool instead of your oven. As someone who is still getting used to this product, I want EASY recipes and not overly difficult ones. Hopefully, this easy dinner idea will work for your family.

Ingredients For The Ninja Foodi Chicken Cutlets

  • 1 pound Perdue chicken breast (I am a Perdue ambassador)
  • 1/2 sticks butter
  • 1 cup panko bread crumbs
  • 1/4 cup Italian seasonings
  • 1/2 cup shredded Parm cheese
  • 1 tbs garlic powder
  • 1 tbs onion powder
  • 1/2 tbs salt
  • 1/2 tbs pepper
  • 1 cup of water

I want to note that in my photos, I put much more than a cup of panko bread crumbs, but that’s because my bag was about to expire and I just wanted to use it all. But you do not need to waste as much as I did. Truth be told… I could not use the bag again. So, I just had to finish the bag with and so… I did. 🙂

In traditional breaded chicken cutlets, you use an egg, but I chose not to use it in my Ninja Foodi because I am still getting used to the machine. The recipe turned out absolutely perfect without the egg. The Italian in you will not miss it – I promise.

How To Make Breaded Chicken Cutlets In The Ninja Foodi

Place the butter in a mug and melt it in the microwave for about a minute. Then pour a bit onto the base of a large plate. Set aside.

Take a bowl and mix together your panko breadcrumbs, garlic powder, onion powder, parmesan cheese, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper. Set aside.

Grab one more plate so you can place your prepped chicken cutlets in one place. Now, we are ready to assemble. Take your chicken and roll it around in the melted butter. Now, toss it in the panko/ parmesan mixture until fully coated. Finally, set aside on a reserved plate for prepped chicken.

Repeat the process until all chicken is prepped. We are ready to place the chicken into the Ninja Foodi now. Add in 1 cup of water to the base of the device.

Grab your stacking trays and place the lower tray in first. Add in as many chicken pieces as you can to the lower level. Now, add in your top tray. Fill the top tray.

Cook on manual high pressure for 10 minutes. When finished do a quick release for the steam. Remove the pressure lid and cook on air fry at 390 for another 15 minutes.

Chicken Cutlet Notes:

  • I ended up making more than one pound of chicken for last night’s dinner. So, I had to repeat this step twice because my Ninja Foodi couldn’t fit in all of my chicken cutlets at once. If you need to break it up, then considering doing that.
  • While I was making my sides, my chicken got a bit cold because it was done a lot quicker than everything else that I was cooking. I just threw my chicken cutlets in the oven for 5 minutes on broil and everything heated up again. Something to consider if you end up having your protein done a lot quicker than your starches. Sometimes I don’t always time everything as perfectly as I should. Just a reminder.
  • I love to serve chicken cutlets with apple sauce. It’s the only way I eat them and my children have picked up on my habits. I know ketchup is the American staple… but consider apple sauce the next time you make this recipe.
  • I used panko breadcrumbs because I had them. They were also gluten-free breadcrumbs but I didn’t want to make this a gluten-free recipe and make everyone crazy. Use what you have.
  • During the summer months, we love to serve chicken cutlets with lemon. If you are against the apple sauce, then cut open a lemon and drizzle it over your dish before you serve it to guests. SO GOOD!

What Can I Serve With Chicken Cutlets?

We love to serve potatoes, rice, or pasta with chicken cutlets! I mean – anything goes with this dish. It’s almost like a dinner neutral if you ask me. It’s the one dish I know that my children will eat without any issues whatsoever. So, whatever I have on hand, I put it out!

A side salad, beans, broccoli – you name it and it will work. The answer to this question is – whatever you have on hand. 🙂

Chicken Cutlet Leftovers

If you happen to have any leftovers, consider making chicken cutlets with mayo on a sandwich for lunch, throw together a quick chicken parm with some jarred pasta and shredded mozzarella, or make a really easy chicken salad with whatever you have in the fridge! Lots of options with this one.

Chicken Cutlets In Air Fryer

I never thought I would make this chicken cutlets in air fryer recipe and now that I did, I love it! It freed up my oven. You will notice while cooking that you really don’t use all of the butter. You probably have about half of it left over when all is said and done.

You could really make a huge batch of this on Sunday and then come up with creative ways to eat chicken cutlets all week long. Love it!
