Cinnamon Biscuits recipe
They’re a sweet and savory upgrade to your favorite biscuit recipe. Made with a cinnamon-sugar coating on the outside and a flakey buttery biscuit on the inside, these biscuits are the perfect breakfast snack or treat! Serve you’re with this easy honey butter recipe and you’ll swear you’ve gone to heaven. Every bite is truly incredible and perfect for any occasion.
Cinnamon Biscuits with Honey Butter Ingredients
-Flour: For the base of the biscuit recipe you will need 2 cups of all-purpose flour.
-Baking powder: This is the leavening agent that will help the biscuits to rise properly and turn out fluffy. Use 1 tablespoon of baking powder.
-Sugar: Adding 2 teaspoons of sugar into the biscuit mixture will help to add a little sweetness.
-Salt: Adding in 1/2 teaspoon of salt will help to naturally enhance the flavors.
-Cinnamon: We want a nice cinnamon flavor throughout the biscuit so use 1/2 teaspoon of ground cinnamon in the mixture.
-Butter: Use 1/4 cup (half a stick) of cold cubed butter. The colder the butter the better the results.
-Milk: You will need about 1 cup of milk to help bring the dough together into the perfect consistency. The actual amount could vary slightly depending on how wet or dry your biscuits may feel.
-Cinnamon sugar mixture: To give our biscuits the wonderful burst of sweet flavor the moment it hits our tongues, we will be covering it in a little cinnamon sugar before baking.
For the honey butter you will need:
-Butter: You will need 1/4 cup of softened butter. You can use salted or unsalted depending on what you have on hand.
-Honey: Use 1/3 cup of your favorite brand of honey to help give your butter a wonderful flavor.
How to Make Cinnamon Biscuits and Honey Butter
Preheat your oven to 450 degrees F. Spray a 8″ square baking dish with non-stick cooking spray.
Combine the dry ingredients in a medium-sized bowl. Cut in the butter until the mixture is crumbly using a pastry cutter or a fork. Stir in the milk just until moistened.
Sprinkle some additional sugar on a countertop and scrape dough onto sugar. Sprinkle with more sugar and pat down with your hands until it’s about a 7″ diameter round.
Use a glass or biscuit cutter to cut out biscuits, re-shaping the round as necessary to cut additional biscuits. (You’ll get 9-11)
Transfer biscuits to prepared pan.
Sprinkle tops with your cinnamon-sugar mixture.
Bake for 14-16 minutes, or until golden brown.
To make honey butter:
Combine honey and butter in a small food processor or blender. Pulse until combined.
Smother on warm cinnamon biscuits.
Store leftovers in an airtight container on the countertop for up to a week, or in the fridge up to 2 weeks.
