Electric Pressure Cooker Pork Chops and Cabbage Notes

  • This is a recipe for a 6-8 quart electric pressure cooker. If you are looking for the crock pot version here it is:Crock Pot Pork Chops and Cabbage .
  • When cooking this dish, you can use bone in or boneless chops, just make sure they are a medium thickness. Thin chops will overcook and thick chops could need to cook too long for the cabbage to withstand.
  • When cutting up your cabbage, cut into large chunks. Pressure cooking will cause the cabbage to soften more easily, so bigger chunks allow the cabbage to withstand the pressure longer.
  • We made this in our 6.5 quart Ninja Foodi, but you can make it in any 6-8 quart electric pressure cooker.

  • As with any of our recipes, carb counts, calorie counts and nutritional information varies greatly. As a result, your nutritional content depends on which products you choose to use when cooking this dish. The auto-calculation is just an automated estimate and should NOT be used for specific dietary needs.
  • Finally, all electric pressure cookers cook differently, so cooking times are always a basic guideline. Recipes shouldalways be tested first in your own electric pressure cooker and time adjusted as needed.

I made this as written twice and loved it. 8Qt instant pot so used 2 cups of broth. My favorite butcher does not have medium thickness chops ready, only thin and thick. I used the thick and cut into 3 equal pieces to fit cabbage cook time. 3rd and 4th times I added carrots. One pound peeled and cut into medium size chunks. We love carrots to begin with, and this just increased my enjoyment of this recipe. I have used both regular Montreal steak seasoning and the smoked version. I like the smoked version just a little bit more.
Thank you so much for this recipe, it is now in regular rotation of dinner recipes.

      Hi Corrie-
So sorry I somehow missed your comment. I can’t say for sure without testing on the time, but you wouldn’t need to add more liquid. My guess is that if your cube your potatoes they should be done without adding more time, but again, I haven’t tested it.

We love hearing from you, it totally makes our day! Please remember, our comment section is much like our dinner table... You don't have to like everything we serve up, but you do have to use your manners.
